SBOANJ - HORSEMEN’S GROUPS MEET IN NJ TO DISCUSS INSURANCE


MANALAPAN, NJ – May 1, 2012 – Representatives of horsemen’s groups from Maine, Illinois, Ohio and Delaware, under the auspices of Harness Horsemen International, met at the Manalapan offices of the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey on Monday, April 30, 2012, to discuss ways to offer their members the best insurance coverage for the best price.

“We are attempting to map out a plan to consolidate our insurance coverage and will have further negotiations through the summer,” said SBOANJ President Tom Luchento, who was joined at the meeting by SBOANJ Executive Administrator Leo McNamara and SBOANJ Director and Insurance Committee Chairman Anthony Romano. 

Attending the session with the New Jersey contingent were Sal DiMario of Delaware, Tony Somone of Illinois, Wendy Ireland of Maine and Jerry Knappenberger of Ohio along with insurance executive Shay Cowan.  Both the Eastern and Western Pennsylvania groups are also participating in the discussions.
