YONKERS, NY, Tuesday, May 22, 2012--A half-dozen 3-year-olds--five colts and a
gelding--have been entered for Yonkers Raceway's Art Rooney Pace.
That limited number means the 22nd edition of the Rooney, worth $306,204, shall
be a one-dash-for-the-cash event, scheduled for a week from Saturday night,
June 2.
The contestants, in alphabetical order with declared drivers, are...Bolt the
Duer (Mark MacDonald), Domethatagain (Dan Noble), Dynamic Youth (Andrew
McCarthy), Hurrikane King Cole (Tim Tetrick), Major Bombay (Jason Bartlett) and
Pet Rock (Brian Sears). Dynamic Youth is the gelding in the group.
The companion event for the Rooney, the $176,484 Lismore Pace for sophomore
fillies, attracted five young ladies. It, too, is a single-dash soiree set for
June 2.
The lineup of lasses, alphabetically-approved, is...Bettor B Lucky (George
Brennan), Handsoffmycookie (Tetrick), Jamie Sue (MacDonald), JK Fine Art (Jim
Morrill Jr.) and Ryder Blue Chip (Bartlett).
Please be advised that both races are to be drawn next Tuesday afternoon (May
29), as part of the regular Saturday draw.
Yonkers' five-night-per-week (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday) live
