About the USO

The USO is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform.  The original intent of Congress — and enduring style of USO delivery — is to represent the American people by extending a touch of home to the military.  The USO currently operates more than 140 centers worldwide, including 10 mobile canteens located in the continental United States and overseas.  Overseas centers are located in Germany, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Qatar, Korea, Afghanistan, Guam and Kuwait.  Service members and their families visit USO centers more than 6.9 million times each year.  The USO is the way the American public supports the troops.

About the USO Liberty Bells

The USO Liberty Bells travel throughout the world performing for service men and women, their families, veterans and audiences that actively support the troops here and abroad.  The USO Liberty Bells Show Troupe is comprised of Broadway and Off-Broadway professionals who are chosen through an extensive audition process.  The 2012 show troupe performers hail from the Broadway shows Hairspray, The Sound of Music, The Color Purple, Cirque Du Soliel, Hugh Jackman Back on Broadway and Spiderman: Turn off The Dark.  Most importantly, the USO Liberty Bells are recognized as highly-visible USO brand ambassadors and raise awareness of the USO’s mission through their patriotic performances.

The USO Liberty Bells perform more than 200 shows annually.  Performances include deployments and homecoming ceremonies, ships and military installations, veterans homes and hospitals, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, NASCAR events, METS Military Appreciation Day, Medal of Honor Foundation Gala at Regan National Library, 50th Anniversary of the USS Enterprise, Opening of the NASDAQ, FOX & Friends, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The TODAY Show and Fleet Weeks NYC & Norfolk.
