YONKERS, NY, Tuesday, May 1, 2012—Yonkers Raceway has announced an
across-the-board purse increase of approximately 10 percent, beginning with the
racing program of this Monday, May 7th.
The new purse structure now ranges from $9,500 (from the current $8,500) for
bottom condition/claimers to $36,000 (from the current $33,000) for the weekly
trio of Open Handicaps (trotters, pacers and distaff pacers).
"We know this is the time of year when horsemen have many options, and
we're committed to keeping Yonkers the best place to race," general

The
Raceway's five-night-per-week (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday) live
schedule continues. First post for all programs remains at 7:10 PM. Evening
simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon
simulcasting--including Friday's Kentucky Oaks and Saturday's Kentucky
Derby--available around the NYRA schedule.
