The
Dexter Cup, which has been contested since 1960, is one of the first stakes
tests for three-year-old colt trotters. Sixteen trotting fillies will go
postward on Friday, May 4, split into a pair of $38,850 divisions of the Lady
Suffolk, carded as the eighth and tenth races.
Market
Share, driven by Jeff Gregory and trained by Linda Toscano, has been installed
as the 8-5 morning line favorite in the Dexter Cup, Saturday’s featured tenth
race. Market Share won the Dexter Cup elimination race last week in a
career best of 1:57.1 in his 2012 debut. He won five-of-five starts at
two and now is a perfect six-for-six, all on Freehold’s half-mile track.
Owned
by Richard Gutnick of Blue Bell, PA and Gary Cocco of New Town Square, NY,
Market Share will leave from post five. He has a career bankroll of
$63,910.

1992, is 1:57.3, held by Stacy Spice with John Campbell driving, in 1996.
