Several weeks ago, the Meadowlands began color coding sulkies and tracking the information on its live television broadcast. Statistics have been compiled for the past month and will now appear in the live racing program as well.
“The statistics of a certain sulky’s performance is not only good for handicapping in the present, but for the future as well,” said oddsmaker Darin Zoccali, “especially if a driver decides to make a switch to sulky that is out-performing the others.”
Zoccali has also compiled statistics on sulky changes and the performance of horses changing from one bike to the other.
Here are the sulky statistics for the past month at the Meadowlands:
