Miller unleashed Fountainbleau Volo on the final turn and he easily charged past the leader to a stakes record 1:52.2 score. Cameron Chip rallied between horses to finish second, while Definitely Mamie rallied from the far outside for third.
Fountainbleau Volo paid $3.80 as he posted his fourth straight win for trainer Jeff Dauplaise. Dauplaise and partner Mendy Taffel purchased the 4-year-old SJ’s Caviar gelding privately last fall while he was racing at Yonkers . Fountainbleau Volo surpassed $150,000 in career earnings with his Horse & Groom hat trick. He now has 11 wins in 23 career starts.
Bob Key’s Miss Chip K did not disappoint either as the favorite in the $37,000 Syrinx Hanover final. She tipped three-wide on the final turn and rallied to a 1:58.2 victory in rein to Brian Sears. It was a half-length back to the pocket-sitting Feegee, while Touch Of Charm held third after cutting the middle fractions. Charlie Norris trains Miss Chip K, a 3-year-old daughter of Chip Chip Hooray. She posted her second win in 12 career starts.
