MR - MIGHTY M LEADERS JIM MAROHN, JR AND JIM TAGGART, JR LOCK HORNS IN ST PADDY PACE

Jimmy Marohn, Jr. and Jimmy Taggart, Jr.  who are currently in a battle for leading driver honors at Monticello Raceway, will go head to head in the tracks 11th edition of the St. Paddy Pace on Thursday afternoon, March 15.

The race, which inaugurated in2001 is for drivers of Irish descent and is the second leg of the Mighty M’s Heritage Drivers Series.
Marohn,  whose 65 winners is currently tops while Taggart’s 60 wins is second best.  But Taggart may have the upper hand in then St. Paddy Pace  when he gets up behind the morning line favorite Prince Aidid from post six . Marohn, on the other hand, has second choice JK Hooty and the pole position.

Marohn won this event in 2009 while Taggart has yet to be victorious in the race for the Bailey’s Irish Cream.
The eight -horse field which is far from stellar still appears to be very competitive. John McDermott, who won the St. Paddy Pace in 2005 will handle third choice La Pensee Du Jour from post five and Rich Harp drives the races only seasonal winner in Flanagan Storm from the two hole.

Other drivers who’ll be seeking the trophies in the event include Sean McAlesse, Cory Stratton, Truman Gale and Mike Doherty, the latter a St. Paddy Pace winner in 2001.
Post time for the 12-race  card is at 12:50pm.  Approximate post time for the St. Paddy Pace is at 2:30pm.
