A
5-year-old son of Armbro Scribe and the American Winner mare Inside Edition,
Franks Best is owned, trained and was bred by Bob Johnson, with Lemoyne
Svendsen again in the sulky.
The
bay performer comes into this assignment with $128,000 in his account and a
1:57 mark that was established here last season. He will be attempting a hat trick here having
used his strong late kick to capture the last two top dances for the trotting
division.
Sent
off at 8-5 in his March 9 outing, Franks Best rode live cover to the lane and
then motored past the pacesetter for a length and a quarter tally. In his most recent tour as the 4-5 chalk, the
Johnson representative was first-over into Putoneonnetformom on the final bend,
gained the advantage at the midway point in the stretch and was once again a
length and a quarter to the good at the wire.
Rocky
Stidham will send out the uncoupled pair of Shelby County, who will have his trainer
in the sulky; and Putoneonnetformom with James Kennedy at the controls. Rounding out the field are Meringue with Luke
Plano and Giles L S Hanover, who leaves from the one-hole with Steve Wiseman in
the bike.
