M1 - Miller Sweeps Spring Survivor Finals At Meadowlands

East Rutherford, NJ [April 21, 2012] -- It was a David Miller daily double as the driver swept both Spring Survivor Series finals on Saturday night at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

Miller steered Breakin The Law to his fifth straight win and a career best 1:50.3 clocking in the $59,200 final for 3-year-old pacers, the first race of the evening.  Although Breakin The Law gapped cover and appeared to be struggling on the final turn, he soared off brisk fractions to a 2 1-2-length tally.  One Through Ten and Winter Night finished second and third, respectively.  Breakin The Law is now eight-for-10 on the season.  Ron Burke trains the gelded son of Artiscape-Arl’s Troublemaker for his father Mickey’s Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Jjk Stables and The Panhellenic Stable Corp.

Miller completed a $4.20 double with Hambletonian eligible Top Billing in the $58,650 final for sophomore trotters, race two.  Top Billing sat well off a lukewarm pace, took a short lead entering the top of the stretch and drew off to a 3 3-4-length victory in 1:55.1.  Not Afraid finished second after setting the tempo, while Top Billing’s stablemate, Trouble, was another two lengths behind in third.

Top Billing, trained by Julie Miller, is now perfect in three career starts.  A $22,000 yearling purchase at Harrisburg, the son of Andover Hall-Ny Starlet was unraced as a two-year-old mainly due to health issues.  Top Billing is owned by brothers Jason and Doug Allen, whose family campaigned world champion Fool’s Goal with Bruce McElven.

The Meadowlands is dark next weekend, April 27-28.  Live racing resumes Friday, May 4 with live music and the start of the summer-long Horseplay Car Giveaway.
