MR - IMPOSTER A’S 10TH WIN THIS YEAR MAKES HIM THE CO- LEADER NORTH AMERICA

It might be told as a tale of two coasts. Monticello Raceway pacer, Imposter A scored his 10th seasonal triumph already this year and he’s at the top of the North American leaderboard but he is joined at the acme by Cal Expo pacer Double Dakota, who also has accumulated 10 wins this season.

Imposter A  scored his 10th win yesterday (April 10) when regular teamster Mike Forte guided the Australian- bred pacer to an easy five length triumph in a time of 1:58 over Civilized Hanover and driver Jimmy Taggart, Jr.

“It amazes me how good he (Imposter A) is and has been so far this season. Maybe because he’s  been winning so much is the reason that he’s been so brave and dead game,” noted driver Mike Forte. “He’s a pleasure to drive and he makes you look good in the process.”

Besides his 10 victories in 14 seasonal starts Imposter A also has  two second place finishes to go along with his wins.

The 9-year  old Fake Left gelding began his career in his homeland winless in eight starts as a 3-year-old but over the following two seasons Imposter A won eight races and nearly $40,000 before he purchased in America by Steve Waynee of Lindwood, MI in October 2008.

Imposter A debuted at Chester Downs for owners Wahoo Stable that same season and though he raced well in four US starts he remained winless, except for a 1:56.1 victory in a qualifying event.

Over the next two years he remained at Harrah’s Chester then moved to Pocono Downs where he changed hands again and finally ended up  the property of C & F Associates of Hillsdale, NJ, the pacer’s current owners.

For the past two seasons Imposter A, now a career winner of nearly $135,000 has been in the Elisha Lafreniere barn here at the Mighty M and this seasons 10 wins has  doubled his domestic totals

The scourge of the East Coast when Imposter A won on April 10th understandably he paid a  paltry $2.20 for win.

Not to be outdone the West Coast stalwart, Double Dakota trained by Tim Brown for Carvalho and Bragg of  Orangevale CA. , notched his 10th victory on April 7.
