Art Glass, a 7 year old Art Major gelding owned by Bill Damberg of Kerhonkson NY and trained by Bob Lounsbury continued his winning ways this year when Stephane Bouchard guided him to a 2:00.1 victory at over a muddy racetrack Monticello Raceway on Tuesday afternoon, January 24.

After winning his first two races in 2012 with Bruce Aldrich at the controls Art Glass got a new pilot in Stephane Bouchard but the results were the same.
A horse with quick gate speed Art Glass had previously been victorious on the front-end so it was a no-brainer for Bouchard to send the veteran pacer to the lead despite starting from the seven-hole. Once Art Glass made the front the pacer continued to make every pole a winning one although Bouchard had to strongly urge him in the lane to rebuff a hard charging Rare Display driven by Jimmy Taggart Jr.
The margin of victory was just a head in a 2:00.1 clocking over the wet racetrack rated good by the judges.
Although it’s early in the season Art Glass’s three wins ranks him among 38 horses currently at the top of the North American leaderboard.
Also on the card, Canadian-owned Epanephrine turned in the fastest mile of the day when Jimmy Marohn, Jr. reined him to 1-1/4-length triumph over Game Jocko ( Mike Forte) in a time of 1:58.4 in the daily pacing feature. It was the second consecutive victory for the speedy No Pan Intended 5-year-old gelding owned by Dr. James Shive of Rines Creek, NS.

A winner of over $82,000 last season with a mark of 1:50.1 taken at the Meadowlands, Epanephrine is trained locally by Art Green.
