Meadowlands Racetrack’s new series for $7,500 claimers has filled with a 14-horse field set to go in the ninth race Friday night.
The 1 1/2-mile event will be raced weekly though March 11. The top 10 money earners will advance to a $20,000 estimated final on March 23.
“We would like to thank the horsemen for their support as we introduce new racing opportunities this season,” said Racing Secretary Peter Koch .

Early Closers For 4YO Mares Announced
The application for Meadowlands Racetrack’s early closing program for 4-year-old mares is now available online.
Nominations will close March 15 for the Ima Lula and Green With Envy series. The nomination fee is $1,000 for both events, which consist of two $20,000 preliminary legs and a $60,000 estimated final. The Green With Envy for pacers will feature prelims on June 22 and 29, and a final on July 7. The Ima Lula for trotters will be carded July 19 and 26 and culminate in a final on August 3.

Fine dining will return to the Meadowlands Racetrack this Saturday with a new Pegasus Buffet and Martini Happy Hour.
