The
46-year-old Ehrhardt is a resident of Stow. If he maintains his lead through
December 2012, it would be the first training title to his credit. In 2011,
Ehrhardt had the highest UTRS (Universal Trainer Rating System) of the
Northfield trainers, but he has never been the leading trainer with the most
victories.
Ehrhardt has
been training horses since 1994 and has earned 926 training successes and
purses of nearly $3,000,000. His current stable has ten horses. He credits the
best horse he has ever trained as being Coastal Wind.
Kevin has
been married for 21 years to his wife, Carla Ehrhardt, who works as the Senior
Administrative Assistant to the Vice-President of King’s Medical Group in
Hudson, Ohio. Kevin and Carla have two
sons, Zack and Ryan. Zack is a sophomore
at Walsh University on a baseball scholarship and Ryan is a junior at
Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
Ehrhardt has
set a goal to earn his first training title this year. “I have never really had enough horses to
produce the starts to be able to have the most wins,” commented Ehrhardt. “I am
in a spot now that I have a real shot.
It is absolutely my goal to be the leading trainer. I have terrific owners.”
The
34-year-old Stahl is a native of Republic, Ohio and is in search of his first
career driving title. Stahl finished
second in the 2011 Northfield Driving Standings and was the runner-up three
times at Raceway Park in Toledo, Ohio.
Ryan’s 2012
tally ranks him 20th nationally.
Stahl began driving in 1994 and has since won 2,871 races and purses
approaching $9,000,000.
