With Yonkers closed for a week or so, Bartlett made a stop
at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday, June 12 and walked away with a hat trick from
five trips to post.
His first triumph came with Jody Riedel’s Jane Of
Diamonds where he used a first-over trip to wear down leaders and travel
on to a 1-1/4 length victory over Zeke Parker and Delcotross
in a 1:57.3 clocking.
Victory number two came behind Gerrie Tucker’s
Genuine Star when Bartlett put the pacer on the front end and cruised to
an easy four-length victory over All American Master and Zeke Parker, in
a time of 1:58.1.
His final victory on the card came in the last race
when he scored a second triumph for owner-trainer Jody Riedel. This time
Bartlett used a quarter pole move to the front to blaze on to a 1:56.3
victory and finished four lengths ahead of runner-up May Day JoJo driven by
Greg Annaloro.
Bartlett’s trips to the Mighty M this year have
produced 11 wins in 22 starts and his seasonal total of 163 ranks him in
the top 25 in races won in North America but his purses of $2,586,450 is
currently 11th best.
In just a dozen full seasons driving harness
horses Bartlett has recorded 4390 career victories
