East
Rutherford, NJ [June 20, 2012] -- Award-winning Meadowlands Racetrack
photographer Michael Lisa and his wife, Annette, will host the third annual
Lisa Photo Stride For The Cure race and fund raiser for the American Cancer
Society on Saturday, June 23.
Designated the seventh race on Saturday’s card, the Lisa Photo
Stride For The Cure will feature horses and drivers wearing pink equipment to
raise awareness for ACS’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program. Trainer Mark Ford and his wife, Kelly,
have donated pink equipment for each horse in the race as well as pink whips
for the drivers. Kristen
Bartlett, wife of driver Jason Bartlett, donated pink drivers’ goggles. Trainer Julie Miller has donated a pink
blanket for the winning horse.
Steve
Every of Pioneer Sports Inc., whose firm supplies the field paints for the
National Football League, will apply a custom pink ribbon logo to the
Meadowlands infield similar to those found in NFL end zones. A football signed by New York Giants
defenseman Justin Tuck is among the items up for auction at the Lisas’ fund
raising event in Paddock
Park.
The festivities
kick off at 3 pm with a 5K for human
athletes that starts and ends on the racetrack.
The 5K is just $25 to enter
(fee includes event t-shirt, post-race party with live music, prize drawings
and other activities). All proceeds
benefit the American Cancer Society.
Registration can be done online at Active.com or on site at the
Meadowlands beginning at 1 pm on Saturday.
The 5K
is a sanctioned event and prizes will be awarded for the top runners in each
division. Men's and Women's division
