Fhld - VERDAD PREVAILS IN NJSS-GREEN ACRES FINAL

MANALAPAN, NJ – October 6, 2012 – Verdad scored a half-length victory over Mortal Zin in the $25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes – Green Acres Final for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Freehold Raceway.

Eric Abbatiello was in the sulky as Verdad paced the mile in 1:54.2.  The son of Western Ideal is trained by Ron Burke.

Verdad held off Mortal Zin in second and Only Rock N Roll, a length and a quarter back in third.  The two runners-up are by Rocknroll Hanover.

Breeder Howard Taylor of Philadelphia, PA owns the bay colt in partnership with Judith Taylor of Bala Cynwyd, PA.  The pacer has earned $137,635 lifetime, finishing on the board in 16 of 29 starts.  This year, he has four wins, two seconds and one third in 17 starts for earnings of $60,278.
