Fhld - MELADY’S MONET BIDS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT IN $25,000 NEW JERSEY SIRE STAKES

MANALAPAN, NJ – October 25, 2012 – Melady’s Monet, winner of two straight and five of his last seven, has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite in the $25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes – Green Acres Final for three-year-old trotting colts on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Freehold Raceway.

Trained by Taylor Gower, Melady’s Monet is in the hands of Hall of Famer Cat Manzi, leaving from post five in the field of eight, carded as the seventh race.

The gelded son of Revenue won all three of his New Jersey Sire Stakes preliminary legs and has six wins, four seconds and three thirds from 19 starts this year, banking $48,064 toward a career total of $49,723 for owner-breeder Luca Balenzano of Pompano Beach, FL.

The NJSS-Green Acres stakes records at Freehold for three-year-old trotters is 1:58.4 for colts, set by Market Share in 2011, and 2:01.3 for geldings, set by Dreamlands Big C in 2004.
