Drea's Good Powow takes Vernon Downs feature.

Drea's Good Powow (John MacDonald) wins the Fillies and Mares feature ($7,500) on Thursday night (June 8).   The 7 year-old Squaws Fella mare found herself last, eight lengths back behind early front runner Looney Dune (Ben McNeil) after  the first-quarter.   Drea's Good Powow ($2.90) who is owned by the JP Stables and trained by MacDonald would make a first-over move just before the half.  She would then blow right by and take over at the top of the stretch and win in 1:52.2.  The Filly Princess (Jimmy Wittemore) would charge late and finish second.  Looney Dune would hang on to finish third.

A big day at Vernon Downs tomorrow night (June 9).  The miracle mile will host two Empire Breeders Classic Elimination heats for 3 year-old trotting colts.  Also featured on this great Friday night is three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for sophomore pacing fillies.  The 13 race card starts at 6:45.
