by Brian J. Mazurek, for Buffalo Raceway

HAMBURG, N.Y. --- Kevin Cummings inched closer to the 100-win mark already this season at Buffalo Raceway after scoring a double on a rainy Friday night (April 3).

After driving Herbie Is Gone ($2.20) and Way To Go Fabieo ($5.40) to wins, Cummings pushed his seasonal victory total to 97 and now enjoys a huge 42-win margin over Shawn Gray in the Buffalo Raceway driver's standings.

In 2014, Cummings had a career year with 334 wins. He's well on his way to shattering that mark if things continue as they have been. Last season on this date, Cummings had 53 victories in 312 starts. Now in 2015, he has 97 wins in 345 tries, good for 15th nationally. He's tops nationally in the UDR for all drivers with over 200 starts with a .424 mark, leading Dave Palone who is next with a .404 rating.

CumminKevin Cummings Inches Closer To 100 Wins At Buffalo Racewaygs is on pace to break Jim Morrill's track record of 214 wins set back in 2006. He'll have plenty of opportunities to increase his totals as Buffalo Raceway just completed their 34th racing date out of 92 days scheduled this season.

Shawn Gray had a four-bagger on the night while Jack Flanigen and David McNeight III also doubled on the program.

The preliminary rounds of the Niatross Knockout Claiming Series will begin Saturday night to highlight the 13-race card at Buffalo Raceway. Post time set for 6:35 p.m.
