SBOANJ - A LOT OF “MUSCLE” ON DISPLAY IN 2YO NJSS TROTS

MANALAPAN, NJ – July 12, 2012 – Three of the four divisions of New Jersey Sire Stakes for two-year-old trotters went to sons and daughters of Muscles Yankee on Wednesday, July 12, 2012 at the Meadowlands.

But the fastest split was posted by Find The Magic, a daughter of Chocolatier, who was clocked in 1:58.1. 

Find The Magic got up at the wire to record a nose victory over Miss Steele [Muscles Yankee] while Sturdy Muscles [Muscles Yankee] was two and a half lengths back in third in the fourth race which carried a purse of $20,000.

Find The Magic, driven by Brian Sears and trained by Dane Snyder, is unbeaten in two starts, including a division of the Reynolds stakes.  She has now banked $23,813 for Thomas King III of Valencia, PA.

Lady Dynamite [Muscles Yankee] reached the winner’s circle in her first pari-mutuel start with a two-length tally over Time To Kill [Muscles Yankee].  Southwind Cocoa [Chocolatier] was third by four lengths in the seventh race.  The mile was timed in 1:59 flat.

Driven by Yannick Gingras, Lady Dynamite is trained by Mark Harder and owned by the Chris Alexander Stables and Stephen Palermo, both from Ontario.

Two divisions of colts were claimed by sons of Muscles Yankee.

In the first race, the Purple Haze Stables’ Timo Deo, was a neck winner over Muscle Mountain [Muscles Yankee].  Marion Mayday [Chocolatier] was third by eight and a quarter lengths. 

Trond Smedshammer is the driver-trainer of Timo Deo, who trotted the mile in 2:00.2.

In the third race, Corky, driven by David Miller for trainer Jimmy Takter, picked up his first win in 1:59.1.  It was four and a quarter lengths back to King Muscles [Muscles Yankee] in second and six lengths to Team Zordin [Muscles Yankee] in third. 

Corky, who was making his third career start, is owned by Christina Takter of East Windsor, NJ and brothers John and Jim Fielding of Toronto, Ontario.
