BILLINGS ACTION HEATS UP WITH THE WEATHER
Now that the weather is heating up so is the action in the CKG Billings Harness Driving Championship Series.  Known as the ‘Grand Circuit of Amateur Racing’ the series, and the success of it over the past three decades, has spawned various local amateur clubs and other amateur series.

This year Billings members will be earning points for entry in either the Delvin Miller Gold, Silver and Bronze Cup Finals  which will be  raced on November 18th at Harrah’s Philadelphia.
Currently the point leader in the Billings Eastern Region is Dave “Steady As” Yarock with 55 which are two points more than runner-up Bob “the Headhunter” Hechkoff’s  55. Tony “The Capo” Verruso and   Bob  “the Rapid Rail” Krivelin are tied for third each with 52 points  while Peter ‘The Past President” Gerry is fifth best with 37.

In the Billings Midwest Region  Steve “You’re Never Too” Oldford has a commanding lead with 42 points. Far back tied for second place are Mike “the Doo Wop Doc” Caston and Dein “the Jupiter Gem” Spriggs’ each with 14 points. “Lady Kara Sue” Buxton and  “Neon Leon” Cable, each with nine points, hold down fifth place.
In the upcoming week there will be two  races at the Meadowlands  for Billings members on  Thursday, July 19 and on Monday, July 23 there will be a contest at the Fowlerville, Michigan Fair.  Billings events follow  on Friday July 27th at Yonkers Raceway  and  at the Summit Fair at Northfield Park Saturday, July 28.
