Nfld - Classic Rock Nroll Upsets Battle of Lake Field

Dan Noble piloted Classic Rock Nroll ($25.40) to victory in the 27th Annual $111,500 Battle of Lake Erie at Northfield Park upsetting two time champion Foiled Again.  Classic Rock Nroll pushed Foiled Again before releasing him to a quarter of 26.4.  After taking the lead, Foiled Again was challenged by Aracache Hanover to a half in 55 and three-quarters in 1:22.3.  Noble popped Classic Rock Nroll into the passing lane and passed Foiled Again by half a length, stopping the timer in 1:50.3.

“That was the plan from the start,” said Noble, “His (Classic Rock Nroll’s) trainer told me to push them to the quarter and he would have a big kick coming home.”

The win pushes Classic Rock N Roll’s earnings just shy of $500,000.  Classic Rock Nroll is owned by Frank Bellino of Bronxville, NY and trained by Tony O’Sullivan and tonight’s winning time of 1:50.3 represents a lifetime mark for the five year-old.

The final order of finish after Classic Rock Nroll was Foiled Again, Aracache Hanover, Flipper J, Trick Man, Valentino and Something For Doc.
