NYSS sophomore fillies trot into Vernon on Saturday.

John Horne for Vernon Downs.

Love A Good Story (Andy Miller) and Reba Blue Chip (Verlin Yoder) face off in $114,000 New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 3-year-old trotting fillies on Saturday (July 11) at Vernon Downs.

Love A Good Story (Chapter Seven) is coming off a solid second place finish to Hypnotic AM in the Empire Breeders Classic (EBC) last Saturday (July 4) at Vernon Downs.  She won her other start in 2020 at Tioga Downs in a leg of the NYSS.  The filly is trained by Julie Miiller.  She has eight wins in 12 career starts and has won more than $310,000.

Reba Blue Chip (Chapter Seven) is three for four as a sophomore.  Her only defeat this year also came to Hypnotic AM in a NYSS race at Tioga Downs.  Yoder trains the filly, who has six wins in nine career starts.

Their major danger is the Jenn Bongiorno trained No Mas Drama (Joe Bongiorno).  The filly by Muscles Yankee is looking for her first win as a sophomore.  She finished third in the EBC last week and was second best to Love A Good Story during a leg of the NYSS at Tioga Downs.  She has two lifetime wins and nearly $100,000 in the bank.

The 15-race card will start at 1:10 p.m.
