Gettin Serious takes Vernon feature.

Gettin Serious wins $4,800 featured trot at Vernon Downs on Thursday (July 2).

American JJ (Michael Miller) went to the front and led to the quarter in :27.4.  Gettin Serious ($4.10) took control on the back stretch and was first to the half in :56.3.  Five Towns (Howard Parker) went first-over and tried to put pressure on Gettin Serious but couldn't get by.  Gettin Serious led to three-quarters in 1:25.2.

As they turned for home Gettin Serious found another gear and won easily in a lifetime best of 1:55.1.  Sweet Royalty (Jimmy Whittemore) showed late trot and came up to finish second.  Five Towns had to settle for third.
