Jins Shark and My Lindy Winner capture Tioga features.

Jins Shark (Jim Taggart Jr.) wins the $8,000 open pace and My Lindy Winner (Mike Merton) takes the $8,000 open trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (July 18).

In the open pace, Harry Terror (Wally Hennessey) led to the first quarter in  :27.3 and to the half in :56.3.  Kotare Yael N (Corey Braden) made the first move going first-over from third going down the back stretch.  Harry Terror hit three-quarters first in 1:24.2.  

As they made the turn for home Harry Terror and Kotare Yael battled tooth and nail for the lead.  Somehow Jins Shark ($19.60) squeezed in between them both to get the victory in a seasonal best of 1:51.4.  Kotare Yael finished second.  Harry Terror settled for third money.

Jins Shark is a 9-year-old gelding by Four Starzz Shark.  The gelding is owned by Joel Warner and trained by Mike Deters.  It was his fifth win this season.  He now has 40 career victories.

In the open trot it was Boli (Walley Hennessey) darting out for the lead.  He led to the first quarter in :28.1.  He continued to control things by hitting the half first in :58.4.  My Lindy Winner ($2.40) made his move down the backstretch going first-over from fifth and getting into second as Boli hit three-quarters first in 1:27.1.

My Lindy Winner took control as they went around the final turn.  He just cruised down the stretch to easily win in 1:55.3.  Uncle Hanover (Kyle DiBenedetto) came up to take second.  Boli had to settle for third.

My Lindy Winner is a 5-year-old horse by Credit Winner.  He is trained by Rob Harmon for owners Vincent Laurenzo and Howard Taylor.  It was his fourth win this season and 12th career trip to the winner's circle.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (July 19) featuring two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for freshman pacing fillies.  The 11 race card starts at 1 p.m.
