East Rutherford, NJ - A field of top class trotters highlight Friday's
offering for a purses of $18,000 in race six. Among the contenders are Wind Of
The North and DW's NY Yank, a pair of Grand Circuit regulars preparing for
the upcoming stakes season.
Wind Of The North had another profitable year for owner Joann
Dombeck in 2016, picking up $234,010 on the strength of six wins in 26 starts.
Sean Bier drove him to a rallying second last week at Dover in his first start
of the year and is back aboard on Friday for trainer Jenny Bier.
DW's NY Yank is the epitome of a war horse. With no fancy pedigree
upon which to rely, the now eight-year-old altered son of Dilbert Hanover has
amassed over $1 million in career earnings the hard way boasting 40 wins
among the 78 on the board placings in his 120 lifetime starts. DW's NY
Yank was on the sidelines for most of 2016 and is making his
first money start since last June for owner/trainer Ron Burke and partners
Howard Taylor and Weaver Bruscemi. Joe Bongiorno is listed to drive.
