OPENING ROUNDS DRAWN FOR MATCHMAKER, LEVY SERIES

YONKERS, NY, Monday, March 13, 2017—The adults come out to play this weekend, featuring opening rounds of Yonkers Raceway’s Blue Chip Matchmaker and George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series.

Friday night (March 17) finds three, $40,000 Matchmaker melees (races 4,5 and 6), comprised of 24 of the best pacing mares in training.

Saturday night (March 18) offers four, $50,000 Levy groupings (races 5 through 8), including Bit of a Legend N. The defending series champ drew post position No. 2 in the final division, with Jordan Stratton driving for owner Harry von Knoblauch and trainer Peter Tritton.

A total of 31 leading Free-For-Allers declared their intentions for the first series go-round.

Both series include five preliminary rounds leading to their respective (Saturday, Apr. 22) finals

            Reminder again that in advance of the late-winter blizzard, Yonkers has cancelled live racing (and simulcasting) for Tuesday (March 14).
