East Rutherford, NJ - Melady's Monet, the pride
of Esther and Luca Balenzano's Melady Enterprises, makes his seasonal debut in
the first race on Friday night at The Meadowlands, an $18,000 conditioned
trot.
Thoughtfully managed by his dedicated owners and trainer
Kevin McDermott Melady's Monet has earned over $1 million in his
40 win career the old fashioned way, by grinding it out in overnight
races.
While other youngsters were pursuing the big money
stakes, the son of Revenue S was making just a handful of starts at
two with a few Green Acres wins at Freehold his only stakes
successes as a sophomore.
Fact is, the biggest win of his entire career came just last
Hambletonian Day when he took the Vincennes Invitational trot at The
Meadowlands in a career best time of 1:51.4.
Now back to the races after his customary winter
respite, Melady's Monet (Brett Miller driving) returns to face a
solid group that includes Opulent Yankee, the winner of this class each of the
past two weeks, and the always dangerous Muscle Diamond.
Friday's lead promotion is the popular "That's My Driver" contest for vouchers and prizes.
Post time is 7:15 p.m.
