YONKERS, NY, Monday, April 22, 2013--Yonkers Raceway's latest purse
increase takes effect next week, with hikes of 10 percent for claiming races
and 20 percent for conditioned races.
Beginning Monday, Apr. 29, the purse structure ranges from $11,000 (for $12,500
claimers) to $46,000 (for the trio of Open Handicaps). There is also a new
pacing class, for 3- and 4-year-olds (both genders) who are non-winners of six
pari-mutuel races and/or $60,000 lifetime (purse $25,000).
"We are committed to offering the best racing possible, and we encourage
all horsemen to compare our purses to any other track," general manager
Bob Galterio said.

The Raceway's five-night-per-week live schedule continues, with
first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 PM.
Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting
available around the NYRA schedule (note that Belmont Park opens Friday).
