M1 - Meadowlands Resumes Racing


Racing resumes at The Meadowlands next Friday with the kickoff to the 2013 Championship Meet.

   The weekend will feature Grand Circuit racing with the John F. Simpson Memorial stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies on Friday and the colts on Saturday. Friday's conditions also offer prep races for Simpson trotting colts & fillies in anticipation of those stakes on Friday, May 10.

   Also on Saturday is the $100,000G Meadowlands Maturity, a brand new stake for four-year-old trotters. The Maturity is open to all comers of that age, there were no nomination payments required. The top ten lifetime money winning horses at the time of entry that are declared will race. The entry fee is $2,500.

   The new condition sheet is available on The Meadowlands website. Friday's draw will be conducted on Monday morning with the box closing at 9:00am.

    Summer Survivor Late Closer

The next deadline for Meadowlands Late Closers is May 15 for the Summer Survivor and Ima Lula series'.

The Summer Survivor offers an option for both trotters and pacers three years of age that are Non Winners of 2 Pari-Mutuel races or $30,000 lifetime as of May 15. The races encompass weekends through the month of June.

The Ima Lula provides a few races for four-year-old trotting mares to race against their own division in late July with a $73,000 estimated final on Hambletonian Day.
