The Fillies and Mares, Open 2 Pace ($9000) headlined the Tioga Downs card on Friday night.
The slight betting favorite, So Nice (Mike Merton) pushed the gate open and was loose on the lead from the outset. So Nice upped her lead to three lengths after three-quarters in 122.4.
Truth And Liberty (Aaron Byron) followed patiently in the loose pocket all the way to the top of the stretch. Once the 6 year-old mare by Total Truth jumped out of the pocket, she looked like she was shot out of a cannon. Owned by Tracy Moss and trained by Robert Lounsbury, she would blow right by in deep stretch for the win in 1:51.2.
Truth And Liberty would pay $5.00 for the win. So Nice hung on for second with Rock my World (Mike Simons) getting third.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing Saturday (May 13) at 6:50pm with a nine race card featuring the Open Trot ($12,000).
