The second race featured pace proved to be be exciting.
Sassy Hanover (Cluade Huckabone Jr) would jump right out of the gate to take the early lead. Hitting the first quarter in 27.2. Then Truman Gale would guide JDS Brent N Sheree first over from third to lead at the half in 56.0.
Pantheon Hanover (Chris Lems) found himself six lengths back with a half mile to go. After JDS Brent N Sheree led them to three-quarters in 123.3, Sassy Hanover would go first over at the top of the stretch.
Lems then would take Pantheon Hanover three wide. The 5 year-old Somebeachsomewhere gelding would wear them down in the stretch to take the main event.
Sassy Hanover finished second with JDS Brent N Sheree Hanging on for third.
Pantheon Hanover who is owned by Philip Hale and trainer David Dewhurst paid $6.90 for the win.
