Simple Saver wins Vernon Downs feature.
Simple Saver (Leon Bailey) takes
the Fillies and Mares feature ($4600) at Vernon Downs Friday night (May
26). Love You Bye (Jimmy Wittermore) charged out of the gate and set the
early fractions. Simple Saver ($10.40) a 9 year-old Live Or Die mare,
went first over from fourth at the halfway mark. After three-quarters,
the mare owned by Michael Annunziata and trained by Elizabeth Carutenuto would
blow right by Love You Bye to score in 1:53.4.
