YR - TIDYING UP SOME LOOSE ENDS FOR FINALES OF LEVY, MATCHMAKER

BY FRANK DRUCKER, Publicity Director, Empire City @ Yonkers Raceway

YONKERS, NY, Wednesday, April 24, 2013--When last we left Saturday night's finals of Yonkers Raceway's George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series and Blue Chip Matchmaker, the races--worth $450,000 and $285,000, respectively--were in need of driver changes and morning-line odds.

First, the chauffeurs. Eric Goodell has the assignment paired with Second Wind N in the Levy and George Brennan takes a seat behind defending champ Rocklamation in the Matchmaker.

Next, the early odds, as carefully crafted by yours truly. Annie'swesterncard, coupled with two-time series champion Foiled Again have 9-5 morning favoritism in the Levy, while the entry of Camille and Rocklamation opens as the 8-5 choice in the Matchmaker.

Both sets of parimutuel partners are trained by Ron Burke.

As for the complete roster, with drivers and morning-line odds...Levy--1-Razzle Dazzle (Brian Sears, 4-1); 2-Versado (Andy Miller, 6-1); 3-Annie'swesterncard (Matt Kakaley, 9-5); 4-Dancin' Yankee (Tim Tetrick, 5-1); 5-Casimir Jitterbug (Doug McNair, 10-1); 6-Second Wind N (Goodell, 12-1); 7-Foiled Again (Yannick Gingras, 9-5); 8-Something for Doc (George Brennan, 8-1).

In the Matchmaker...1-Feeling You (Tyler Buter, 3-1); 2-Eighthunrdolarbill (Sears, 10-1); 3-Camille (Gingras, 8-5); 4-Warrawee Koine (Jason Bartlett, 6-1); 5-Ramona Disomma (Dan Dube, 5-1); 6-Krispy Apple (Kakaley, 4-1); 7-Rocklamation (Brennan, 8-5); 8-Anndrovette (Tetrick, 4-1).

In addition to the Burke-trained entry, Krispy Apple and Anndrovette go as a common trainer (PJ Fraley) and ownership entry.

The 26th edition of the Levy, harness racing's richest race of the season to date, is listed as the 10th race. Post time for the dozen-race card is 7:10 PM, with approximate post for the Levy at 10:25 PM. The fifth finale of the Matchmaker goes as the seventh race (approximate post 9:25 PM).

The requisite consolation races, worth $100,000 and $75,000, respectively, go as races nine (Levy) and six (Matchmaker).

The Raceway's five-night-per-week live schedule continues, with first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 PM. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting available around the NYRA schedule (note that Belmont Park opens Friday).
