Both drivers used the front-end route to victory.
In his $6000 division, Minore gunned For Goodness Lindy to
the front from the two-hole as the remainder of the five horse field found
seats along the pylons behind the leader.
For Goodness Lindy led the entire way and was well in hand
when Minore got him to the wire 1-1/4 lengths ahead of Bob Hechkoff and
Tremendous Hit. Bobby Krivelin finished third with Current Crisis, some five
lengths behind the winner.
Their triumph was their second together in the series
having been victorious in 2:00.4 on April 4th ,also at Yonkers on
April 4th
Taking advantage of the pole position and the short
four-horse field Schwartz sent Mandinga to the lead and they
cruised along unchallenged until Dave Yarock moved Guiding Light up
the backside the second time around.
But the biggest threat to Schwartz and Mandinga came
from the two-hole trip by Some Kinda Spunky and driver Johnny Kolkowski.
When they straightened for home Kolkowski pulled out
from behind the leader and the two raced neck and neck to the
wire with Mandina all-out to hold off Some Kinda Spunky which he did by a
head in a 2:02.4 clocking. Third place went to Yarock and Guiding Light.
Although it was Schwartz’s first victory in the series the
trotter he drove, Mandinga, scored for the second time having won the second
NAADA leg for Bobby Krivelin in a time of 2:04.3 at Monticello Raceway on March
14.
The next leg of the NAADA Trotting Series will be contested
on April 25th at Monticello Raceway.
At series end the top eight drivers in points will get a
chance to compete in the $14,000 NAADA Final at Yonkers Raceway on May 23.
