In recent years, the Molson Pace has had elimination
races and a final the following week. However, this year’s event drew fewer
nominations (17 in total) which prompted management to make a change to the
format.
Racing and Gaming Manager Ian Fleming
explained that nothing is etched in stone and that the event will be reviewed
prior to next season to see which format works best in today’s climate.
The Raceway has an added a new twist to
this year’s race, however.
A Molson Pace prep will be held on Friday,
May 24 and the winner of that will receive an automatic berth into the Molson
and will join seven other invitees for the $150,000 main event.
