Hamburg, NY--- Hour
Lavec, a seven-year-old Mr Lavec gelding, won the $11,000 featured trot in
2:01, for owners Finish Line Investors, of Rochester NY, and John Paul
Cummings, Jr., of Williamsville NY, here at Buffalo Raceway Friday night (April
19), over a sloppy track. It was the third win in thirteen attempts this season
for Hour Lavec, who won the Open Trot last week.
Driver John Cummings,
Jr., put Hour Lavec ($4.40), the 6/5 favorite in the race, on the lead, and he
set all the the fractions in the race, :30.3, 1:01.1, and 1:31 to the
three-quarter marker. A :30 last quarter-mile put the winner 6-1/4 lengths
ahead of second place finisher, Hailstorm Volo (Ron Beback, Jr.), at the finish
line. Serious George (Kevin Cummings) came in third.
Trained by Megan
Wilson, the $5,500 share of the winning purse put Hour Lavec’s season’s
earnings at $27,941, and $371,675 lifetime. It was his 25th win in
118 lifetime starts.
