Throughout the Championship Meet,
Meadowlands Racetrack guests will have the chance to meet their favorite local
New York and New Jersey sports celebrities. This new addition to the
event calendar is an effort to enhance the on-site fan
experience.
The
first celebrity weekend kicks off Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11. On
Friday, former NY Jet quarterback and current SportsNet New York football
analyst Ray Lucas makes an appearance. On Saturday, racetrack fans will
have the chance to meet former NY Ranger and New York hockey fan favorite Nick
Fotiu. Lucas and Fotiu will greet patrons, sign autographs take pictures and do
a brief interview on the in-house TV show.
Also
scheduled to appear on Saturday, June 22 is former NY Ranger defenseman Ron
Greschner.

excited to welcome several of the tri-state area’s sports legends here to the
New Meadowlands Racetrack while continuing to showcase the excitement and
pageantry of the world’s best harness racing,” says Jason M. Settlemoir, CEO
and general manager of the Meadowlands.
