YONKERS,
NY, Monday, September 19, 2016—Millionairess Hannelore Hanover is the latest
RSVP for the Oct. 15th Yonkers International Trot.
The
4-year-old Indiana-bred daughter of Swan for All shall make her Yonkers
Raceway/small-track debut in this race, opposing the boys at the
mile-and-quarter distance.
Please
note that a first post of 1:10 PM has been requested for the special afternoon
program, with Yonkers International Trot post time to be determined.
Back
to ‘Hannelore,’ with career earnings of $1,091,685, of which $786,111 has been
socked away this season. Her life-best 1:51 effort was taken at Mohawk in
June’s $208,260 final of the Armbro Flight.
In
addition to whipping the ladies in the Armbro Flight, she did so in $188,000
Fresh Yankee (Meadowlands) and the $170,000 Muscle Hill (Vernon).
She
beat the boys in the $471,200 Hambletonian Maturity (Meadowlands), and again
her $30,800 elimination of the Maple Leaf Trot (Mohawk), before finishing
second (to Resolve) in last Saturday night’s $480,320 final.
At
3, she won Hoosier’s $220,000 Super Final of the Indiana Sire Stakes (Hoosier).
‘Hannelore,’
with 14 wins and two seconds in 16 tries this season, has won 23 of her 37
career starts (35 in-the-money) for co-owners (as Burke Racing, trainer) Ron
Burke, Weaver Bruscemi, Frank Baldachino and J&T Silva Stables.
She
originally sold for $32,000.
“She
can do it any way,’ regular driver Yannick Gingras said. ‘She’s very
slick-gaited. When she won twice at the 1 1/8 miles (Meadowlands), the extra
distance wasn’t a problem, so I don’t think the mile-and-a-quarter is a
concern.
“I’ve
loved her from the first time I sat behind her. Part of the reason she
went to Mohawk is to showcase her,” Gingras said. “We’re glad Yonkers thought
she was a worthy entrant, and I expect her to race well.”
