YONKERS, NY, Tuesday, March 29, 2016—When
the entry box closed Tuesday morning for Yonkers Raceway’s Saturday night
program, George Teague Jr. was indeed a man of his word.
There was last season’s Harness Horse of
the Year, Wiggle It Jiggleit, in and among the 32 leading Free-For-Allers
colliding in Round 3 of the George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series.
The 4-year-old Mr. Wiggles gelding tries
Westchester for the first time, landing post position No. 7 in the eighth race,
third of four consecutive, $50,000 series divisions.
Wiggle It Jiggleit, or WIJI for those in
his inner sanctum, began his “older” purse career with a 1:51.4 win this past
Monday evening in a Dover Invitational, his 24th win in 28 career
starts ($2,218,495). Teague Jr. co-owns with Teague Racing Partnership, with
Montrell Teague taking his usual seat for trainer Clyde Francis.
All Bets Off (Matt Kakaley, post 6) starts
directly inside WIJI in a stacked field that are features defending series
champ Domethatagain (Dan Dube, post 4) and Ideal Cowboy (Jason Bartlett, post
8).
Take it Back Terry (George Brennan, post
4) and Lucan Hanover (Brennan also listed, post 7), each 2-for-2 in the series,
oppose one another in Saturday’s final series event, while the other
“two-timer,” Bit of a Legend N (Jordan Stratton, post 8), received no venue
love in the second division.
Friday night, the third round of the Blue
Chip Matchmaker features of trio of $40,000 events (races 5 through 7). Al Raza
N (Stratton, post 4), the only repeat winner thus far, drew into the final
division.
