EDIE’S DESIRE SCORES HER 19TH VICTORY; TIED FOR MOST WINS IN NORTH AMERICA

December 20, 2011, by John Manzi, Publicity Director, Monticello Casino and Raceway

She’s been a winning machine all season long and with the triumph today at Monticello Raceway Edie’s Desire is now tied for the lead in races won in North America this season.
Again with the meets leading driver Bruce Aldrich, Jr. at the controls Edie’s Desire score a come-from- behind victory in a time of 1:59 getting the judges call after a tight three- horse photo.

“We’ve been racing on the front end a lot this year and I guess all the guys in there with us knew that so they gunned out of there and  I guess they were looking for me but  I changed tactics today,” Aldrich said. “When I saw they were leaving I ducked in a hole and came second-up after the half. I had to go three deep on the final turn but we were charging in the lane  and although we didn’t win by much  still they posted our number first.”
For  the 5 year old Real Desire mare it marked her third consecutive victory  and now with 19 wins on the season she’s tied for the lead  with two other pacers, New release and Mack Hill.

For the year Edie’s Desire also has five seconds and eight thirds to go along with her 19 wins in  43 seasonal starts . And this season too,  Aldrich’s Blue Creek Angie has 18 seasonal triumphs and is  just one  win behind the leaders.
