BLUE CREEK ANGIE WINS FOR THE 18TH TIME THIS YEAR AND IS NOW 2ND IN RACES WON IN NORTH AMERICA

December 5, 2011 by John Manzi, Monticello Raceway

Over the past three years Blue Creek Angie has been a winning machine reaching the winners circle 46 times in 101 trips to post. And  with  four weeks of racing still remaining before the curtain comes down  on the 2011 campaign at Monticello Raceway--her home track for the past three seasons-- there’s still time for her to add to her totals.

On Monday, December 5th  the  8 year old On The Attack mare  made her 39th start this season and she scored her 18th triumph  with her regular pilot, Bruce Aldrich, Jr. at the controls.

In that contest Aldrich left from the pole position and let Nice Big Star grab command only to retake before the quarter  and then cruise to an easy four length victory in a time of 1:56:1.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. I love this mare. We get along great….she understands me and I understand her,” Aldrich said of Blue Creek Angie. “And even though we’ve only had her for her for the past three seasons still in 200 lifetime starts she has won 71 races for a winning percentage of .355. That’s a pretty good percatge, I’d say, wouldn’t you?”

With that triumph Blue Creek Angie has moved into a second place-tie with New Release and El Ringer in races won in North America this season. The trio trails leader Mack Hill by just one victory.
