YONKERS, NY, Friday, July 6, 2012—Yonkers Raceway's pair of Friday night. $44,000 Open Handicaps--for trotters and distaff pacers, respectively--were won by favored Blacktuxwhitesocks (George Brennan, $4.10) in 1:54.3 and Feeling You (Eric Goodell, $11.40) in 1:52.4.

The trotting feature saw "Blacktux," leaving from post position No. 6, prevail in a solid, two-move effort. He edged away from leader (:28.2, :57.4, 1:26) Wuthering Hanover (Jim Pantaleano) late, winning by a neck. Sing Jesse Sing (Jason Bartlett), Big Sky Storm (Jordan Stratton) and Flex the Muscle (Jeff Gregory) grabbed the small change.

Last week's winner, Fox Valley Iliad (Larry Stalbaum), could not survive the odyssey of a first-run break.

For Blacktuxwhitesocks, a 5-year-old statebred Credit Winner gelding co-owned (as American Viking Racing Stable) by trainer Trond Smedshammer and Purple Haze Stables, it was his fifth win in 13 seasonal starts. The exacta paid $45.80, with the triple returning $235.50.

The lasses saw Feeling You overcome the eight-hole and take it the distance, with intervals along the way of :27.1, :56.2 and 1:24.3. Rock N Soul (Bartlett), was a pocket second—beaten a length--with Naughtytiltheend (Brent Holland), Southwind Jazmin (Gregory) and last week's victress, Lighting Treausre  (Dan Dube) rounded out the payees

For Feeling You, a 5-year-old daughter of Cambest trained by Amber Buter for co-owners Gallicchio Racing Stable, Tyler Buter and Vincent Cannella, she's now 8-for-19 this season. The exacta paid $40, the triple returning $276.50 and the superfecta paid $1,498.

The 58th Yonkers Trot highlights Saturday night's card, with world champion Googoo Gaagaa leading a field of five. The $445,594 Trot goes as race 6 (approximate post time 9 PM) on the 13-race wagering card, with the Check Me out-led $185,194 Hudson Filly Trot a non-bettor between races 3 and 4.

The Raceway continues its normal five-night-per-week live schedule, with first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 PM. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting available around the NYRA schedule
