Credit List wins Open Trot at Vernon.

John Horne for Vernon Downs

Credit List (Justin Hackabone) goes from last to first to capture the $7,000 Open Trot at Vernon Downs on Saturday (May22).

Spoiler Alert (Truman Gale) went straight to the front and led to the first quarter in :28.2.  He used a :29.0 second quarter to hit the half in :57.2.  Beyond Kronos (Dylan Huckabone-Miller) was first to make a move and challenged Spoiler Alert all the way around the final turn.  Spoiler Alert maintained a short lead to three-quarters in 1:25.3.

Credit List ($3.90) found himself last at the half and last at three-quarters.  Beyond Kronos wrestled the lead away at the top of the stretch.  Credit List just came flying down the stretch and passed them all to win in 1:55.2.  Beyond Kronos had to settle for second.  The always tough American JJ (Michael Miller) finished third.

Credit List is a 6-year-old gelding by Credit Winner.  He is owned by Jonathan Applebaum and trained by Huckabone.  It was his eighth win this season.  He now has 19 career victories.

Joe Nassimos was trainer-driver for two wins on the card.  John MacDonald and Leon Bailey each had driving doubles with Bruce Lauer getting a training double.  76-year-old Miriam Toland found the winner’s circle once again with her faithful horse Fleetwood Hall.

Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday (May 28) with a post time of 6:10 p.m.
