YONKERS TO ALTER SCHEDULE FOR INTERNATIONAL TROT, SIRE FINALS DETENTION

BY FRANK DRUCKER, Publicity Director, Empire City @ Yonkers Raceway

YONKERS, NY, Monday, September 11, 2017—Yonkers Raceway is altering its live racing schedule to accommodate New York State’s pre-race protocol for both the $1 million Yonkers International Trot and the $1.8 million New York ‘Day’ of Champions.

The afternoon card of Saturday, Oct. 14th (post time TBA) requires the paddock be used for the state-mandated, 30-hour detention. Thus, Friday the 13th has been cancelled (not the fears and phobias, just the races).

The Raceway has added Thursday evening, Nov. 2nd, as a make-up program, with a usual first post of 7:10  PM. The changes to the schedule have been approved by the New York State Gaming Commission.

Additional information regarding the $3.3 million Yonkers International Trot/’Day’ of Champions program shall be sent when available.
