East Rutherford, NJ – The Meadowlands will host
a dozen live races on Saturday night (September 9) beginning at 7:15 p.m.
Among the features are
higher class conditions for pacers, both male and female and three divisions of
the popular “G-Note” series in which the top finishers returning for a larger purse
final next Saturday.
The sixth race is a test
of young versus old as the speedy sophomore Talent Soup, a 1:48.4 winner here
on July 1, takes on a gritty field of eight veterans in a conditioned pace. The
American Ideal colt has battled the best of his division making the finals of
both the Meadowlands Pace and Empire Breeders Classic. Talent Soup is a Cotton
and Julie Nash homebred trained by Bruce Saunders and Eric Abbatiello , who was
aboard for the record mile, has the driving assignment on Saturday.
Saturday is also Battle For The Best BBQ
night with local purveyors competing for hungry racing fans and cash prizes.
Live racing returns next
weekend with a 7:15 post time.
