EAST
RUTHERFORD, N.J. (September 16, 2017) – Driver William Mann and trainer Al
Annunziata teamed up to win the featured $17,500 Dash For The “G” Notes Final
at the Meadowlands Saturday night, and then for good measure, the duo added
three more victories on the card.
Iyq
Yqr (Think Elmer Fudd saying “I wike you wike you are”) followed up his 1:50.3
score in last week’s preliminary with a dominant win in the final in the same
exact time. Iyq Yqr, who paid $3.00 to win as the 1-2 public choice, grabbed
the lead at the half and sailed home as much the best from there, finishing 1¾
lengths in front of stablemate RU Ready To Rock.
But
the team was far from done.
Mann
and Annunziata scored their second win in the $15,000 co-featured conditioned
pace with Chevals Clivesdale ($14.00, 1:50.1), who was nothing short of airborne
through the stretch, pacing home in an electric :25.3 to get up by 1¼ lengths
over Super Imposed N.
Before
the dust settled, the dynamic duo added victories with Our Els Dream N ($29.40,
1:51.1) and Rock To Glory ($10.40, 1:51.1).
A
LITTLE MORE: Sicily, a 5-year-old gelded son of Art Major from the Wayne
Givens barn, rocked the clock to the tune of a 1:48.2 score in the seventh race
conditioned pace. In lowering his previous lifetime best by two and two-fifths
seconds, he returned $17.80 to his backers for driver Montrell Teague. …
All-source handle on the 12-race card totaled $1,530,328. … Thoroughbred racing
