BY FRANK DRUCKER, Publicity Director, Empire City @ Yonkers Raceway

YONKERS, NY, Saturday, August 18, 2012--Rockin' Glass (Dan Dube) negated his ordered impost and his seven rivals Saturday night, winning Yonkers Raceway's $44,000 Open Handicap.

From the eight-hole, Rockin' Glass made the lead around 17-10 favorite McClelland (Mark MacDonald) after a :26.4 opening quarter-mile. Then, it was a 55-second intermission and 1:23.2 three-quarters, with Blatantly Good (Eric Goodell) offering only limited, first-up competition. Rockin' Glass owned a length-and-a-half lead into the lane, then defeated pole-assignee Four Trumps A (Larry Stalbaum) by a half-length in 1:52.1. McClelland, Nob Hill High (Jordan Stratton) and Code Word (Jason Bartlett) rounded out the payees.

For Rockin' Glass, a 4-year-old Rocknroll Hanover gelding owned by Lee Cotroneo and trained by Cad Gregory, he returned $8.30 (second choice) for his 13th win in 27 seasonal starts. The exacta paid $92.50, with the triple returning $268.
