win in Drivers’ Championship, Market Share’s Zweig, Check Me Out’s world-record
performance
Ron Pierce secured his second Drivers’ Championship victory
and $25,000 first place check by winning the last race of the contest with a
16-to-1 longshot.
Hambletonian winner Market Share smashed the track record in
his Zweig Memorial Trot victory and super filly Check Me Out matched her own
world record of 1:51.3 in the Zweig Filly.
